EMT & EMR Refresher and Recertification Course
National and Texas EMS certifications don’t last forever. EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Emergency Medical Responders must periodically recertify to keep their credentials active, and a structured refresher course is one of the most reliable ways to meet that requirement. EMT School offers an online EMT refresher and recertification course available to students throughout Texas, along with in-person support for students in the Rio Grande Valley.
Who Should Take a Refresher Course
Our refresher course is built for currently or recently certified EMT-Basics who need continuing education (CE) hours to maintain or recertify their Texas EMT certification, EMTs who let their certification lapse and need to requalify, and EMT-Basics preparing to test again for the NREMT after time away from the field.
What the Course Covers
The refresher course reviews the core NREMT EMT-Basic curriculum — patient assessment, airway and breathing, circulation and bleeding control, trauma and medical emergencies, and EMS operations — in a condensed, self-paced format designed for working EMTs rather than first-time students.
Online, Self-Paced, and Statewide
Because the course is delivered online, EMTs anywhere in Texas can complete their CE hours on their own schedule, not just students local to the Rio Grande Valley. This makes it a practical option for EMS professionals working full-time shifts who need flexibility to fit recertification around their work calendar.
