- In-person skills labs, exams and scenarios at the EMTS campus in Mission
- IV, airway and medication skills practiced on manikins and task trainers before clinicals
- The course ends with skills testing, a final exam and NREMT review, and an NREMT prep course is included as an add-on
Clinical rotations
Advanced EMT students complete 60 hours on an ambulance and 12 hours in a hospital emergency department, practicing advanced skills under preceptor supervision. You document every patient you assess, and there are no minimum patient counts to chase.
Students rotate through EMTS clinical partners, including Lone Star Ambulance, Med-Care EMS, Palmview Fire, Pharr EMS, Skyline EMS and the Mission Regional Medical Center emergency department. Clinical attire is the EMTS navy polo with navy uniform pants.
